- There is a bakery shop called Neko Neko Shokupan in Japan, where it sells tons of delicious, cute milk bread and other pastries. It is an excellent idea that turning the normal loaf of bread into a super cute cat face. The store sells the plain loaf and three other flavors such as strawberry, chocolates, and mixed. They also emphasize that the bread is made from 100% milk, which makes it more nutritious. This place becomes a hot spot for people who love cute and delicious pastries.
Where can I get the cat shape baking loaf pan?
- I ordered the cat-shaped baking loaf pan from Taobao (the Chinese online shops). They have two different sizes, 280g, and 600g. The ingredients in my recipe are the size of a 600g cat-shaped bread mold.

What are the ingredients?
- The bread is made with simple ingredients containing bread flour, sugar, salt, milk, whole egg, and instant dry yeast. And I also added cocoa powder and food coloring for decoration.

- 335g Bread Flour
- 4g Salt
- 30g White Granulated Sugar
- 60g Whole egg
- 165g Milk
- 30g Unsalted Butter
- 4g Instant Dried Yeast
- 2g Food Coloring Gel
- 10g Cocoa Powder
- Combine bread flour, salt, sugar, milk, one whole egg, and instant dry yeast in a large mixing bowl; mix well. Keep kneading the mixture until smooth with your hand.
- Thaw the butter at room temperature before adding it to the dough.
Keep kneading the dough until the butter is completely absorbed. Hand kneading dough takes about 15 to 20 minutes before putting it into the first proof.
- Place the dough in a bowl, and cover it with plastic film. Transfer it to the microwave (or oven) with the door closed and place a cup of hot water inside as well. Let the dough proof for the first time inside the microwave, which takes about 1 hour.
- Once the first proof is done, transfer the dough to the table. Press and knead it to release the air.
Evenly divide the dough into three equal pieces.
The dough should weigh about 600g at this time, so each divided piece is 200g.
- Add the food coloring gel and powder to another two pieces.
And knead the dough until the color is evenly applied.
Divide 70g from both colored doughs, and roll all the doughs into balls. And then, let all the doughs rest for 15 minutes with the plastic film covered.
- Flatten each dough into a long oval shape with a roller, and then roll it up from right to left.
Place each dough in the baking mold by colors.
The 70g colored doughs are the ears, and the rest of the doughs are the cat's face. Place the baking mold upside down which the ears touch the table. Place the colored doughs for the ears first, then place the white dough in the middle and the rest colored doughs on the side. Close the mold, and transfer it to the microwave (or oven) for the second proof.
Once the dough becomes double the side or 80 percent full of the mold, it is ready for baking.
- Preheat oven to 356F, and bake for 40 minutes.
