Easy Soft White Bread

Easy Soft White Bread

This Easy Soft White Bread recipe makes the most fluffy and milky loaf directly from daily ingredients. It is absolutely delicious by itself or making sandwiches.

I’ve tried many different methods to make soft loaf bread and wheat bread, such as Japanese white bread- Shokupan, and black sesame poolish wheat bread. The first one has used the Yudane method, and the second is the Poolish method. However, this easy soft white bread recipe is quick and straightforward.

What are the ingredients?

  • Bread Flour
  • Milk Powder- This is an optional ingredients that added in the recipe to enhance the milky flavor for the bread.
  • Granulated Sugar– The sugar is a must to add in the recipe to activate the yeast; however, you can alwasy adjust the amout as your persoanl preference. In this recipe, I didn’t add too much sugar to the bread since I added the condensed milk.
  • Salt
  • Condensed Milk
  • Egg
  • Water
  • Active Dry Yeast
  • Unsalted Butter

How to make soft white bread at home?

  • Add bread flour, milk powder, sugar, salt, yeast, condensed milk, beaten egg, and water in a large mixing bowl, and mix well. Keep kneading the dough for 5 minutes with a stand mixer on high speed until it becomes smooth. (If the dough gets too sticky to knead, you can dusting a little bit of the bread flour over it while kneading). Add the butter to the dough, and continue kneading it for 15 minutes until it becomes more stretchy.
  • Leave the dough in the bowl, and cover it with plastic wrap. Place the dough in the microwave or oven with a cup of hot water on the side, and let it rise for 40 minutes until double the size.
  • Once the dough has grown, transfer it to the table. Press and knead it gently to release the air from it.
  • Divide the dough into 3 equal pieces, and roll them into balls.
  • Flatten each of them into a long rectangle with a roller.
  • Fold it from both sides to the center, and roll it up. Pinch the bottom to seal it.
  • Place three shaped doughs in a loaf baking pan.
  • Transfer the baking pan to the microwave directly without covering the plastic wrap, and let the dough rise for another 40 minutes until it fills 80% of the pan.
  • Preheat the oven to 356F, and bake for 40 minutes.

Can I make the bread gluten-free?

  • Yes, you can make the white bread gluten-free by switching the condensed milk to coconut condensed milk. Also, remove the milk powder from the recipe.

How long does the bread last for the soft texture?

  • The bread stays soft for 3 days at room temperature since the homemade bread is without any preservatives.

How to store the soft white bread?

  • Store the bread in an airtight plastic bag, and finish it up within 3 days at room temperature.
